I always look forward to photographing conferences at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. With its expansive meeting spaces, beautiful indoor gardens, and waterfalls, it’s one of my favorite venues in Nashville. It also provides the perfect backdrop for large corporate conferences.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Epicor's annual conference, where customers, partners, and industry professionals gathered for several days of keynote presentations, software demonstrations, and educational sessions. Epicor is known for developing software solutions that help businesses streamline operations, and their conference gave attendees the chance to learn about new technologies, connect with colleagues, and see the latest innovations firsthand.
As a conference photographer, my goal is to tell the complete story of the event-not just the speakers on stage, but everything happening around them. That means capturing the excitement as attendees arrive, documenting the keynote presentations, photographing breakout sessions, recording software demonstrations, and finding the candid interactions that show genuine engagement throughout the conference.
One of the most important parts of photographing a technology conference is understanding the flow of the event. During keynote presentations, I work quietly and efficiently to capture dynamic images of the speakers while also documenting audience reactions. During the software demonstrations, I focus on the interaction between presenters and attendees, showing people learning, asking questions, and experiencing the technology in action.
Opryland offers a variety of environments that make conference photography especially rewarding. The dramatic architecture, natural light streaming through the atriums, and beautifully landscaped indoor spaces provide opportunities to create photographs that feel polished and visually engaging. Between sessions, attendees naturally gather throughout the resort to network and continue conversations, and those authentic moments often become some of the most valuable images from the event.
Professional event photography is about much more than simply documenting what happened. Marketing teams need images they can use throughout the year for social media, websites, recruiting, internal communications, future conference promotions, and press releases. That's why I make it a priority to deliver a gallery that includes everything-from wide shots showing the scale of the conference to detailed images of presenters, demonstrations, exhibitors, audience participation, networking, and branded event elements.
My background in photojournalism allows me to anticipate important moments before they happen. Rather than simply reacting, I'm constantly watching for meaningful interactions, genuine expressions, and storytelling moments that help communicate the energy and success of the conference. The result is a complete visual library that reflects not only what the event looked like, but what it felt like to attend.
Whether your organization is hosting a multi-day conference, an executive summit, a technology showcase, or an annual meeting, professional photography helps extend the life of your event long after the last session ends. High-quality images become one of your most valuable marketing assets, allowing you to promote future events, celebrate your attendees, and demonstrate the value of your conference.
If you're planning a conference in Nashville, I'd love to help document every keynote, breakout session, networking event, and memorable moment with professional photography that tells the complete story of your event. Get in touch and let’s work together.
