Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph professional headshots for Amazon’s AMXL team at Music City Center in Nashville.
Before the shoot, I worked closely with the Amazon team to understand their brand’s visual tone — clean, confident, and approachable. We discussed wardrobe guidelines, backgrounds, and lighting styles to ensure consistency across all the portraits. For a company as large as Amazon, maintaining a cohesive look is important. We decided to use a gray background with studio lighting to show the subjects’ approachable and natural vibe.
Because they were having their conference at Music City Center, I set up a portable studio with lights and the gray backdrop in the hallway outside of where they were having their Keynote Session. Instead of having clients travel to my studio, I make it much more convenient for them to set up a studio in either their office or meeting space. That way, they can just take a quick break to get their portrait taken and get back to what they were doing.
I had sent out sign-up sheets to the attendees prior to the conference, so the process was very streamlined-they could come and get their headshot taken at their scheduled time and go back to whatever they were doing at the conference. It takes me between 5-10 minutes to photograph each attendees as I pose them and then photograph them from different angles so they have a variety of shots to choose from.
Once the shoot wrapped up, I edited the images so they would attain a polished, but natural look.
If your company or team needs updated professional headshots, I’d love to help create images that reflect your brand’s vibe and targeting message. Message me here and let’s make it happen!
