I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Connect Conference Pre-party on behalf of MPI (Meeting Professionals International) at the lovely AURA venue in Nashville. As a member of the Tennessee Chapter and a long-time event photographer, I know that these warm-up events are often where the most organic networking happens. My goal for the night was to capture the vibe that planners work so hard to create.
I did this by capturing the energy of the high-level of networking that was happening. Since Connect is an Industry Summit of sorts, the best of the best were there and were excited to meet each other!
I also capture the vibe of an event by photographing all the little details. Planners spend months picking the right lighting, branding, and layout. I make it a priority to document those elements so they can be used for future marketing and ROI reports.
As event professionals, we know that once a gathering is over, photographs are one of the only memoirs of an event. High-quality imagery from an event does two things: it documents the meeting and it creates content to promote future events.
Whether it’s a massive industry summit or an intimate networking mixer, my job is to make sure the hard work that planners put in to events is preserved.
